Seer Health is a personal wellness app for setting goals, logging what matters to those goals, and reviewing patterns and insights. It is for personal use and reflection. Seer Health is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis or treatment.

01

Data We Collect

When you use Seer Health, we may collect:

  • Account data (for example: user ID, email from identity provider).
  • Health and wellness logs you enter or capture, such as glucose, meals, movement, stress, medications, sleep, notes, photos or barcodes you submit for logging, voice-derived text when you use voice capture, and experiment check-ins.
  • Lab reports, visit notes, and similar documents you upload, plus extracted structured fields you confirm before they are saved.
  • Wearable and fitness data you choose to sync (for example via Google Fitness for Fitbit): activity and steps, workouts, heart rate, sleep, body metrics such as weight, and blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂) when available.
  • App-generated summaries and insights based on your logged data.
  • Technical and operational data needed to run and secure the service (for example: request metadata, error logs).
02

Connected Wearables (Google Fit / Fitbit)

If you connect Fitbit in the app, Seer uses the Google Fitness API (Google sign-in) to read activity, heart rate, sleep, body, and blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂) data you authorize. We store encrypted OAuth tokens and sync authorized readings to your Seer account so they appear in your timeline, goals, progress, and insights.

You can disconnect Fitbit anytime in Connected Devices. Disconnecting stops new syncs; previously imported events remain in your log unless you delete them or delete your account.

The use of information received from Google Fit APIs adheres to the Google Fit Developer and User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

03

Device Permissions and On-Device Protection (App)

The mobile app may request access to certain device features. These prompts are shown in context — for example when you choose to capture a photo, scan a barcode, or use voice entry — not as a single bulk request at install.

  • Camera: used only if you start a flow that needs the camera (such as a food photo or barcode). You can deny access; the feature will not work until permission is granted in system Settings.
  • Microphone / speech recognition: used only if you start voice capture. Audio is processed for transcription as part of that feature.
  • Biometric unlock (e.g. Face ID / Touch ID): optional. If you enable it, the app can require biometric re-authentication when reopening after idle time, to reduce casual access to health logs on a shared device. Biometric data stays on the device and is not sent to Seer Health servers.
04

How We Use Data

We use data to:

  • Provide core app features (goals, logging, timeline, reports, experiments, insights, Documents, and Clinical Summary).
  • Sync your data across sessions/devices, including optional wearable imports you authorize.
  • Secure and operate the service.
  • Troubleshoot errors and improve reliability.

We do not sell your personal data.

05

Cloud Providers, Analytics, and AI Services

Seer Health uses cloud infrastructure providers to host backend services and store data.

  • Authentication is handled through Amazon Cognito.
  • Application data is stored in backend databases and related cloud services.
  • Optional Fitbit sync uses Google OAuth and the Google Fitness API; connection tokens are encrypted at rest.
  • The public website at seerhealth.ai uses AWS services for aggregate traffic measurement: Amazon CloudFront access logs (including request path, referrer, timestamp, and coarse fields such as country where enabled in the log format), and a small first-party event API that records anonymous interaction events in AWS (for example App Store link taps and waitlist submissions). Marketing event records intentionally exclude raw IP addresses, email, and names; waitlist analytics may include a boolean indicating whether an optional name was provided.

Seer Health may use AI-assisted processing for certain features (for example, note/meal/exercise parsing, document extraction you review before saving, and experiment summary generation). When enabled, relevant feature inputs may be processed by AI service providers to return structured results.

06

Data Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us operate Seer Health (for example, hosting, authentication, AI processing, and infrastructure). We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

07

Data Retention

We retain data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. If you request deletion, we delete your app data as described below.

Medical documents you upload (lab reports, visit notes, and similar):

  • Unconfirmed uploads are cleared if you cancel and staging files expire after 7 days.
  • Confirmed originals and extracted text remain until you delete your account or clear saved data from Privacy & security.
08

Uploaded medical documents

HIPAA is the law that protects your health records when they come from a doctor's office, hospital, or insurance company. Since you're uploading your own records directly, just for your own personal use, that particular law doesn't apply to Seer the way it applies to them. That doesn't mean we take any less care with your information — it's kept secure both when it's stored and when it's sent, we never sell it, and you decide what stays and what goes.

Uploaded lab reports and visit notes are encrypted in storage and transit, never sold, and used to power your own Seer experience. Unconfirmed uploads clear if you cancel and expire after 7 days. Confirmed documents remain until you delete your account or clear saved data from Privacy & security.

09

Account and Data Deletion

You can request deletion from inside the app:

  • Open Settings → Account → Delete account.
  • Confirm deletion.

Current behavior:

  • Seer Health deletes app data associated with your account in backend app storage (including logs, summaries, experiment data, synced wearable events, and uploaded medical documents).
  • A minimal deletion audit marker may be retained for compliance/operations.
10

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including encrypting OAuth tokens for connected wearables at rest. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

11

Children

Seer Health is not intended for children under 13 (or higher age where required by local law).

12

International Use

Your data may be processed in countries where our providers operate.

13

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will update the effective date and, where required, provide additional notice.
